I’m writing this on a 2017 Macbook Air with a missing arrow key and a must-always-be-plugged-in power cord.
My iPhone is 5 years old with a few scratches on the lens, but it gets the job done.
I drive a 1992 Volvo that’s durable, easy to repair, paid off, and the most fun to drive!1
My moka pot has seen better days, but it still makes the finest brew day in and day out.
90% of my wardrobe (and jewelry) is vintage, second-hand, and family heirloom pieces.
It goes without saying, I like old things.
I always look for the used or pre-owned version of what I need before buying new2. New things may be shiny and novel at first, but they quickly feel cold and soulless (and break). The sheer amount of stuff sitting on store shelves—and piling up in landfills—overwhelms me.
If it still works — why replace it?
If it’s broken — try to repair, fix, or mend it whenever possible.
Play this song at my funeral, it suits me;)
Old things that I've found
Old bones lyin' on the ground
Old bells that I hear ring
I love them old things
Old cars don't go too fast
Old dogs lyin' on the grass
Old homes full of ghosts
I love them old things most
Them old things, they amaze me
Gonna see my old lady
She wears a big ol' hat and old blue jeans
I love them old things
Old sounds hear the old folks sing
My fingers scream from this old ring
Been around coast to coast
Still love old things the most
Them old things, they amaze me
Gonna see my old lady
She wears a big ol' hat and old blue jeans
I love them old things
Them old things, they amaze me
Gonna see my old lady
She wears a big ol' hat and old blue jeans
I love them old things
I love them things
I love them things
I love them things

I prefer not to drive her daily—and by extending her lifespan, I’m reducing the need for new manufacturing and lowering the environmental impact.
Undergarments, health, and sanitary items should always be purchased new—this goes without saying;)
